Getting to the center of the city from the airport

From the second biggest Italian airport, the Milan-Malpensa Airport, you can reach the city center by bus and train.

  • Train: Two lines of train leave from Terminal 1 to the city center, passing every 30 minutes, and costing 13€
  • Bus: Buses from the airport travel to the city center between 6AM and 00:30AM, passing every 20 minutes, and costing 8€

How to move around in the city ?

  • Metro: Milan has 4 metro lines covering 111 stops. Inaugurated in 1964, the metro is the quickest and easiest way to get around. It runs between 6.00AM and 00.30AM, passing every 2 to 4 minutes
  • Bus: Milan's 80-route bus network works from 5.30AM to 1.45AM. By night, 15 lines out of these also function
  • Tramway: With some historical lines existing since 1876, Milan has 18 tramway lines which run between 5.00AM and 2.00AM.

For all transports, a simple ticket costs 2€, a 24-hour card costs 4.5€, and a 48-hour card costs 8.25€
