BRED, a cooperative bank within the BPCE Group and a leading banking player in France and internationally, manages business travel for numerous teams, each with their own specific needs. In a context where budget control and smooth internal processes are strategic priorities, BRED chose Fairjungle to fundamentally transform the management of its business travel.

Challenges

As part of the modernization of its systems and a drive to optimize costs, BRED decided to thoroughly rethink the employee journey and its expense approval processes. The existing policy was not integrated across the many steps of travel requests, and systematic human checks required numerous exchanges, slowing down decision-making.

Budget tracking, available only after the fact, did not allow for the detection of overspending, forecasting outcomes, or structuring expenses by analytical axis. Teams needed a single automated system integrating budgets and policy rules, with automatic thresholds that would both ensure spending control and empower managers to manage their own budgets.

Finally, in a banking environment where responsiveness is critical, the speed of support responses and the ability to quickly resolve traveler issues were key selection criteria.

Results

Fairjungle supported BRED in a complete overhaul of its traveler journey and travel budget management. This transformation relied on the implementation of automated and customized workflows, perfectly aligned with internal validation needs. Approval processes, previously centralized within a single department, are now consistent with the company’s organizational structure. Managers now directly approve their teams’ travel, accelerating decisions and streamlining bookings.

The platform now provides highly granular, forward-looking budget visibility, offering precise insight into expenses by team, purpose, or project, as well as remaining budget. Managers gain autonomy in managing their budgets, increasing accountability while maintaining strict control.

The integration of Smart Rules specific to BRED enabled the automation of approval routing based on compliance with travel policy, budgets, and travel context. The result is simpler, more reliable management and a significantly improved booking experience for employees.

Finally, BRED highlights the strong performance of Fairjungle’s support.
